Become a Teacher-Ranger-Teacher This Summer

Cedar Breaks National Monument in Cedar City, Utah, is seeking a dynamic teacher to work as a uniformed park ranger as part of the Teacher-Ranger-Teacher program. This teacher will develop and present interpretive programs, assist with outreach, develop lesson plans, and complete projects. Additionally, the teacher will bring park resources into his or her classroom by developing and presenting curriculum-based lesson plans that draw on the summer’s experience at Cedar Breaks.

The Teacher-Ranger-Teacher program is a nationwide initiative designed to offer teachers a professional development opportunity to work for a season as a national park ranger. During this eight-week position (June-August, 2011; dates are flexible), the selected teacher will receive interpretive training, a $300 per week stipend, and a National Park Service uniform.
